Rough chainsaw cuts and split blocks of oak wood form the basis of these brutalistic designs. In his "Made in the Forest" series the focus is on showcasing the production method and the inherent beauty of oak wood. The texture of the grain is overlayed by visible saw cuts. In this collection, Arne Kristian seeks to balance sculpture and function, emphasizing a “less is more” philosophy. Using simple, natural shapes and finishes to create pieces that are both aesthetically striking and practically useful.
